Will Smith has opened up to GQ about his views on intimacy and relationships, including his desire for multiple women.

During the recent interview, the “Men In Black” star admitted to consulting with internationally renowned intimacy coach Michaela Boehm about his desire to have a circle of girlfriends, which would include Oscar Award-winning actress Halle Berry and ballet dancer Misty Copeland.

“I don’t know where I saw it or some shit as a teenager, but the idea of traveling with 20 women that I loved and took care of and all of that, it seemed like a really great idea,” the 53-year-old admitted. However, after Boehm helped him to delve deeper into the possibility of having so many women at his disposable, Smith realized that the fantasy would only result in many broken hearts. Despite being married, he said the coach helped him see that it was “okay to think Halle is fine,” which he had to grasp was not a sin, as his Christian upbringing had taught him.

With this level of consciousness, Smith says he and his wife, “Set It Off” star Jada Pinkett-Smith decided to stop being monogamous at some point in their marriage after realizing that they both were “miserable.” He explained that his wife “never believed in conventional marriage,” and the two often had conversations about what a perfect relationship looked like.

“And for the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose, not thinking of monogamy as the only relational perfection,” Smith explained. However, the couple chose to give each other trust and freedom to explore outside of their union because they do not feel marriage should be a “prison.”

Despite finding a method that works for them, the Grammy Award winner says that he does not suggest their approach to anyone but says their arrangement and “unconditional support” for one another has brought them closer together.
