Woah Vicky’s mother, Carla, has not been heard from in about two weeks, and Miami police are now investigating her disappearance.
The influencer shared a missing poster with a photo of herself and her mom and asked the public for any information on where Carla might be. The poster says the family is “urgently seeking information” about Carla’s whereabouts and safety, and it tells anyone with details to call the police right away.
According to the poster, Carla vanished after taking a bus from Atlanta to Miami to see her daughter. Vicky says the family has not been able to reach her since, and that her mother’s phone appears to be off.
Miami police told TMZ that a missing person report was filed Thursday night and that officers are investigating. That is the confirmed part of this story. Where Carla is, and whether anyone has spoken to her in the last two weeks, has not been made public.
Vicky has also said she “went to jail for fighting with my mom” in Florida two weeks ago, and that when she got out of custody she could not get in touch with her. Police records show Vicky was arrested in Miami on September 25 on a misdemeanor battery charge. Battery is the legal term for unwanted physical contact, and a misdemeanor is a lower-level offense than a felony.
The police report obtained by TMZ says officers were called after a woman reported that her daughter had assaulted her and that she needed help getting her belongings. The woman told police she had been staying with her daughter for five days while visiting. She claimed her daughter put her hands around her neck. Officers noted bruises on the alleged victim’s arms.
Vicky gave police a different account. She told officers there was an argument but denied assaulting the woman. The battery charge is an allegation, and Vicky has not been convicted of anything.
Vicky has linked her jail stay to a fight with her mother, which is why the arrest and the disappearance are being read side by side. The reporting so far does not say whether police see a connection between the two, and no one has said what happened to Carla after the arrest.
The timeline as it stands is short. Carla traveled from Atlanta to Miami and stayed with Vicky. On September 25, police were called, and Vicky was taken into custody. About two weeks later, Vicky is publicly saying her mother cannot be reached, her phone seems to be off, and the family has not heard from her.
For Vicky, the posts come after a stretch of public attention that has included her own legal trouble. For Carla’s family, the focus right now is simple. They want to know she is safe.
Miami police have an open missing person report, and the poster asks anyone with information about Carla’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement as soon as possible.
