A Minnesota woman drove through her ex-boyfriend’s funeral after she was told not to attend.

The Fargo Police Department arrested and charged 28-year-old Blair Whitten for reckless endangerment after driving through her ex’s funeral. Whitten was told by her ex’s close friends and family not to attend the ceremony. Whitten reportedly ignored their requests and instead used her car to mow through the cemetery where the funeral was taking place in an attempt to run over mourners. The incident happened at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday.

“Multiple complainants reported Whitten was driving her vehicle, inside the cemetery, in a manner with extreme indifference for human life which created substantial risk of serious bodily injury to persons in the cemetery,” Fargo police told KVRR’s Jessica Schindeldecker.

People who were at the funeral had to alert a nearby officer after they saw Whitten’s SUV driving over gravesites and “trying to run people over.” Whitten’s ex-boyfriend’s father told police that Whitten was not invited to attend the event. Another person at the funeral said Whitten was not invited to come because she made negative posts on social media about her ex’s death. The second witness said he told Whitten to leave, but she pressed on the gas, forcing him to move out of her way.

When police caught up with Whitten on the north side of the cemetery, she claimed she merely sat in her SUV, and people came up to her believing she would hurt them. She told police that she drove away peacefully and never tried to hit anyone. Fox News reports Whitten was booked into Cass County jail and has pleaded not guilty at a court hearing.
