A Tennessee woman was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first degree murder after her newborn twins, who were born prematurely, died days later with several drugs in their systems, according to authorities.
Tiffany, 29, of Chattanooga, was also charged with viable fetus as victim and aggravated child abuse or neglect in connection with the deaths of her infants. Court documents say she admitted using ecstasy on the day she gave birth, and that she tested positive for other substances, including cocaine, oxycodone, methamphetamine and benzodiazepines, at three different prenatal visits.
Both babies died two days after they were born at Children’s Hospital. Charges are allegations, and no public response from Tiffany had been reported at the time.
