A New Hampshire mother is facing a charge after police say a photo used in a fundraising appeal during a custody fight was edited, according to the Daily Mail.
Police say Taylier, 20, altered a photo of her young son to make it look like he had bruises. According to the report, she used the image to accuse the boy’s father, Bryant, of abuse. She also contacted authorities with her claims and posted the photo on a GoFundMe page hoping to raise money for an attorney. She reportedly shared the link on Facebook and asked followers to donate or pass it along.
Police reportedly determined that the photo had been doctored. Taylier denies that. She told reporters, “I didn’t lie about anything,” and said she is a mother trying to do right by her son.
Bryant told reporters that Taylier has accused him of abuse for years and that the two have been in court over their son for the last three years. He said he is a good father and does not harm the boy.
Taylier was charged with making a false report. She reportedly turned herself in and was released on $2,000 bail. She is due back in court on May 24, and it is not clear how the case will affect the custody hearing. A charge is not a conviction, and the court will decide what happened.
