A healthcare worker in Minnesota was forced to have both of her legs amputated and soon have her hands amputated shortly after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
Jummai Nache of Minneapolis never expected to fall critically ill after receiving her COVID-19 vaccination earlier this year. Nache took the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on February 1st. Days later, on February 6th, the woman began experiencing chest pains. Her husband Philip rushed her to a local urgent care facility. The following day, Hache learned that she’d tested positive for COVID-19 and the virus quickly took a dire toll on her. Eventually, doctors had to amputate her legs. Nache was placed on a ventilator on February 14th.
Since the ordeal began, Nache has suffered from anemia, an arterial blood clot, respiratory disease, heart muscle disease, ischemia, and Multiple Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS).
Philip is searching for answers about what exactly happened to his wife, who will now need both hands amputated.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now investigating Nache’s condition. During a virtual call, 70 to 80 health experts from around the U.S. concluded that MIS and COVID-19 together caused the complications.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been established to raise money for her mounting medical costs. As of Tuesday, over $130,000 had been raised.
