Doing it for the ‘gram went terribly wrong for one Australian woman who fell from a cliff while trying to snap a photo.

The deadly fall happened at Grampians National Park in Australia’s Victoria state on Saturday. According to Nine News, a CNN affiliate, 38-year-old Rosy Loomba bypassed safety barriers and warning signs to pose on a rock at Boroka Lookout, an overhang by the side of the cliff that attracts visitors with its stunning view of the mountains and town below. Sadly, the wife and mother tripped over the edge and fell nearly 262 feet down the cliff. Her husband and child were present.

Loomba was heard screaming as she tumbled, but unfortunately, witnesses were unable to help her. It took emergency responders and law enforcement six hours to retrieve her body. During this time, the viewing platform was shut off to the public but reopened by 10 p.m. that night.

Many visitors to the site often ignore warning signs just so that they can grab a photo on the edge of the dangerous cliffside. In fact, this occurrence is so common that Grahan Wood, a local tour guide, had warned his group about the lookout just moments before the tragedy.

“I made a comment to my customers that this (people climbing over the barrier) happens all the time,” he told Nine News. “And one of these days, someone’s going to fall off. I’m sad that it’s happened.”

Loomba’s sister-in-law, who was not identified, told the Herald Sun that the family was shocked by her death.

“She was a good life partner for my brother and best mum for her kids.”
