New details are emerging about the woman who was fatally shot at a busy Southern California mall earlier this month.

Police say Parisa, 29, was shot inside a retail store at The Oaks mall, where she worked. Investigators say her ex husband, celebrity realtor Kevin Crane, is the person who shot her and then turned the gun on himself. Crane survived and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Almost 10 days later, The Blast reports that Parisa filed a restraining order against her former mother in law, Sheila, just 16 days before the shooting. In court documents obtained by the outlet, Parisa said she was dealing with conflict with her ex and his family over custody of their two sons.

In her written declaration, Parisa claimed Sheila told Crane that if she kept the children away from Sheila, it would be the end of her, and that Sheila would then seek custody. She also claimed Sheila told her manager at work that she did not know who Parisa really was. Parisa further said Sheila went to the children’s school asking for documents, which she said the school denied.

Parisa wrote that she feared for her safety at home and at work, and for her children as well.

Sheila told The Blast that the claims were lies. She said Parisa had told Crane she planned to drop the order the day after it was filed. Sheila also said she is cooperating with police as their investigation continues.

Our thoughts are with Parisa’s family and loved ones.
