A woman who was shot 17 times due to a love triangle gone wrong is opening up about her terrifying ordeal.
Last week, Nicole Jones shared her testimony with @HashTagOurStories, a body positivity blog that shares the stories of extraordinary people overcoming adversities. During the sit-down, titled “Shot 17 Times,” Jones explained how her relationship with her boyfriend took a turn for the worse when she realized that he was seeing another woman almost a year into their relationship. The young woman says that it did not take long before the other woman became “a living nightmare.”
Jones stated that the other woman would call her phone and show up at her home anytime their shared boyfriend was spending time with her. Jones admits that the man at the center of the feud was playing the “middleman,” feeding each woman the same lies. After putting up with the drama for a while, the young health care worker became fed up and tried to distance herself from the relationship. However, after attending a costume party, she got an angry phone call from the other woman who was livid to discover that Jones and the man had been together the night before. The woman threatened to shoot Jones before getting off the phone. Not long after, the woman arrived at Jones’s house and shot her 17 times before fleeing.
The 25-year-old was placed into a medically induced coma for four days. Doctors told her that she would not walk again after sustaining several shots to her legs. Miraculously, she began to walk several weeks after the shooting while in rehab.
Her video has since gone viral, being shared across social media platforms and attracting over 1.7 million views on the @HashTagOurStories Instagram page.
The shooter was apprehended shortly after the attack and is awaiting trial. As for the man who kept the love affair, he has decided to stick by the woman who pulled the trigger.
