Georgia Woman Files Profanity Filled Notice Aimed at Federal Judge

A federal court filing out of Georgia is getting attention for its tone. A woman named Tamah submitted a nine page notice on April 20, 2015, after a judge threw out her lawsuit against Georgia officials.

According to court records and news reports, Tamah’s legal troubles began about five years ago. She was taken into custody outside a South Georgia jail where the father of her child was being held. Pelham police reportedly found an assault rifle, a pistol, her young son and wilderness survival gear in her car. She and the child’s father were charged with conspiring to aid an attempted escape. At the time of this post, there was no record of either being convicted, and the charges were reported as still pending.

In 2014, Tamah filed a $10 billion lawsuit against Georgia officials, claiming among other things wrongful arrest, kidnapping and involuntary servitude. On March 31, 2015, Judge Willis B. Hunt Jr. dismissed the case, calling it nonsensical and saying it was filed after the two year deadline for such claims.

Her response was the nine page notice. News outlets reported that its title and text were filled with profanity aimed at the court and the judge, including insults about the judge’s age. Washington Post writer Abby Ohlheiser called it “probably the greatest federal court filing in the history of the universe.”

The judge’s dismissal stands for now, and the criminal charges against Tamah and the father of her child were reported as pending. We were unable to find a public response from Tamah or the court to the coverage.
