K. Michelle is not taking the skin bleaching accusations lightly and she made that very clear.
The singer went in on why that particular accusation hits different for her personally on Club Shay Shay. For her, it goes much deeper than that. Her father is a Black history professor and she said that context alone should tell people everything they need to know about where she stands on the topic.
“I think that’s most offensive. My daddy’s a black history professor, okay? I wouldn’t know where you even bought that bleach. I wouldn’t know how to bleach an asshole. I wouldn’t know how to do none of that.”
Her bigger point was about honesty. K. Michelle has been one of the most open celebrities when it comes to cosmetic procedures. She has talked publicly about getting her butt done, having it injected, deflated and redone. She got her breasts done and told people about that too. So the idea that she would suddenly start hiding something does not add up to her. “I told you everything. I hiked my titties up. I told you I did this. Why would I lie about bleaching my skin?”
She also made it clear that her skin is something she takes pride in. “I love being chocolate. Chocolate women. I love it. I don’t want to be no other color.”
Then she turned her attention to Dencia, the celebrity and founder of the Whitenicious bleaching cream line, and did not hold back. “You got this girl and she does all this bleaching with like Africans or whatever. She’s made… she might be a billionaire off of bleaching.” K. Michelle was not impressed. “The rich African that’s feeding the people all the bleach… she should swallow it.”
She wrapped it up by making a point. “Imagine having a father that’s a whole Black history professor and you bleaching your skin. Like, that would be a problem in my household. Like, my daddy would be like, what is wrong with you?”
K. Michelle has always been the one to say what others will not and this topic was no different.
