The Yeezy comeback is officially heading to the runway as Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, prepares to unveil Yeezy Season 01 on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The show is scheduled for 8 p.m. Pacific at Yeezy Flagship Droam 1, located at 4317 Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles. It marks the brand’s first major runway presentation since 2022, following years of controversy and the collapse of its billion-dollar sneaker partnership with Adidas.
For a long time, Yeezy wasn’t just another celebrity clothing brand. It was a driving force in sneaker culture. After Ye began working with Adidas in 2013, the partnership introduced its first footwear in 2015 and eventually produced highly sought-after designs, including the Yeezy Boost 350, Boost 700, and Yeezy Slides. The brand became known for futuristic silhouettes, neutral tones, oversized clothing, and releases that regularly attracted enormous demand.
But everything changed in 2022.
The trouble started before Adidas walked away. In September 2022, Ye moved to terminate his Yeezy Gap partnership following disagreements over the collaboration. Then, during his Yeezy Season 9 presentation in Paris on October 3, he appeared wearing a shirt displaying the phrase “White Lives Matter,” a slogan associated with white supremacist movements. The presentation sparked widespread backlash, followed by Ye making a series of antisemitic statements.
On October 25, 2022, Adidas officially ended its partnership with Ye, describing his comments and actions as “unacceptable, hateful and dangerous.” The company immediately stopped Yeezy production and payments to Ye and his companies. Gap also removed Yeezy merchandise from its stores, while Balenciaga severed ties with the artist.
The fallout dismantled the business structure that had helped Yeezy become a global powerhouse. Adidas handled manufacturing and distribution, allowing the sneakers to reach customers worldwide. Any Yeezy comeback would now require Ye to establish a new operation without that longstanding corporate support.
Interestingly, demand for the original shoes did not disappear overnight. Adidas continued selling its remaining Yeezy inventory throughout 2023 and 2024, directing part of the proceeds toward organizations combating antisemitism. By the fourth quarter of 2024, the company had sold its final remaining pairs, ending the retail chapter of the original collaboration.

Ye’s business troubles continued in February 2025 when his Yeezy website began offering shirts featuring swastikas. Shopify subsequently removed the online store, stating that the merchant had violated its platform terms. The incident generated another round of backlash and created additional obstacles for the independent brand.
In January 2026, Ye issued a public apology through a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal, addressing his previous antisemitic behavior. “I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people,” he wrote. The Anti-Defamation League described the apology as overdue and emphasized that future actions would determine whether meaningful change followed.
Despite the setbacks, the Yeezy comeback began taking shape commercially in 2026.
On August 13, JD Sports started carrying independently produced Yeezy footwear online and at select American stores. The collection included YS-01 and YS-02 slides alongside the BL-01, AQ-01, and HL-02 models. Unlike the original releases, these products were developed outside the Adidas partnership.
JD Sports continued promoting additional Yeezy slide releases in October and announced plans for more footwear drops through the end of the year. Meanwhile, the brand resumed offering basic apparel through its own website.
The new Los Angeles flagship represents another step toward rebuilding Yeezy as an independent fashion business. Rather than relying on a major apparel company to launch its collections, Ye is bringing the runway directly into a space associated with his own brand.
The upcoming presentation also carries an unexpected name: Season 01. Previous Yeezy collections had already reached Season 9 in 2022, followed by a smaller Season 10 event in 2023. The brand has not publicly explained whether the new numbering represents a complete creative reset.
There is also anticipation surrounding the Yeezy 800, a footwear design Ye previously previewed. However, its appearance at Wednesday’s show has not been confirmed.
The Yeezy comeback now has a new retail partner, a physical flagship, and a major runway date. What remains uncertain is whether the independent brand can rebuild the commercial scale and consumer confidence it once enjoyed.
