A few weeks ago the cast of America’s Favorite Sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air reunited at the luncheon for Karyn Parsons’ (Hilary Banks) charity Sweet Blackberry. Visibly missing from the festivities were the actresses who played Vivian Banks. TMZ caught up with one of the Aunt Viv’s and she has quite a bit to say about Big Willy and why a reunion with her and the cast will never happen.
Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Viv still blames Will for her firing from the show. “There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith,” Hubert says. She goes on to say, “He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”
Will told an Atlanta radio station that Janet’s demise on the show was due to her “major attitude” but Janet says it’s because she wouldn’t kiss butt. Rumor had it that the two had a blow up on the set where Hubert made the comment “If you want me to kiss your ass, you should have put it in the contract”. Wow!
Smith told the radio station, “[Hubert] said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the AntiChrist.”
Who knew all of this was going on behind the scenes? I was looking forward to a Fresh Prince reunion too.
