A famous Youtube video content creator and mastermind behind a cable piracy scheme has been sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison.

A federal jury convicted Bill “Omi in a Hellcat” Carrasquillo of Swedesboro, NJ, of conspiracy to commit copyright infringement, tax evasion, and fraud.
Carrasquillo told a reporter outside the courthouse that the judge had been “super lenient but fair” and described the sentence – which includes almost $11m in restitution to several cable companies – as “probably salvation for my fat ass to lose some weight.”
It has been alleged that Carrasquillo and his partner stole cable signals from major TV providers and resold them to their customers for $15 a month.
Besides jail time, Carrasquillo must forfeit more than $30 million in assets, including cash and luxury cars.
