Yung Joc and his family have been dealt a devastating blow, as three of his young relatives were killed in an apartment fire.

On Wednesday afternoon, a blaze erupted at Country Oaks Apartments in southwest Atlanta. Three children, identified as Jhacari White, 4, Xhalia White, 9 months, and Xyla White, 1, were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

On Friday, the “It’s Goin’ Down” star took to his “Streetz Morning Takeover” show to reveal that these were his brother’s children.

“I think I may have just dropped a bomb on people because I don’t think people knew that that was my brother, my brother’s family, the kids,” Joc said. “I intentionally did not want to speak out on it, because I did not want to overshadow the story. But the reality of it is, I’m human, we’re human, and I’m hurting. My family’s hurting, my brother’s hurting, his girlfriend’s hurting.”

Joc attended a candlelight vigil on Thursday, which would have been Xyla’s second birthday. He played a clip of his niece speaking at the vigil and reflected on the tragedy’s impact.

“I don’t know if you understand the level of trauma this brings to our community,” he said. “I’m sad, I’m hurt, I’m human, and I’m trying to be professional as I can,” he added before trailing off, overcome with emotion.
