Yung Miami is opening up about the City Girls pursuing solo music.

The Florida star admitted that the release of their last album, “RAW,” and its failed rollout was the group’s turning point.

“The whole rollout of the album was just so bad because we was just in two different spaces. We older now, and she was doing her own thing. She on the West Coast, I’m in Miami. I’m doing my own thing. And I felt like naturally, when she doing her own thing, it just worked for her. And when I’m doing my own thing, it worked for me,” Miami explained.

When “RAW” was released, the mother of two was hard at work on her “Caresha Please” brand, which included her podcast and popular card game. JT, on the other hand, was committed to the music and had begun dabbling into fashion. Fans noticed an apparent disconnect during their press run for the album, sensing tension in the City Girls foundation. Sadly, this proved to be true, with Miami admitting that the chemistry, at least musically, had swayed.

“When we get together as a group, it just wasn’t connecting. It just wasn’t working no more. So I think we both was at a point where we were just like, ‘We probably should just do our own s**t,'” Miami explained.

JT continues to tour the nation, recently celebrating the success of her single ” Okay” as she readies the world for her “City Cinderella” mixtape. Miami is also thriving with “Caresha Please,” which recently debuted an LGBTQ collection for Pride month.
