Yung Miami Suggests the Industry “Left Her for Dead” Following Diddy Fallout and City Girls Split

Yung Miami turned her Summer Jam set into a live performance of her own lyrics, tossing Goyard bags stuffed with cash into the crowd while performing “Spend Dat” on Friday night. Video from the moment shows her on stage in a tiger print bodysuit, gripping a yellow woven Goyard tote and flinging cash out into the air as the crowd reached for it. It is the most literal a performance has ever gotten. The song tells people to dig into their Goyard bag and spend that money fast, and on Friday night, Yung Miami did exactly that in front of thousands of people.

The performance happened at HOT 97’s Summer Jam 2026, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Yung Miami shared the bill with French Montana, Ice Spice, Mariah The Scientist and a hometown return from Fetty Wap, part of a lineup HOT 97 built around some of the biggest names in hip hop. Her booking came off the momentum of one of the biggest solo runs of her career. “Spend Dat” recently earned Gold certification from the RIAA after surpassing 500,000 units sold, and it climbed as high as No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving the Miami native her strongest chart performance yet as a solo artist.

The Goyard bag has become inseparable from this song since the moment it dropped. The lyrics tell listeners to spend their money fast, twenties, fifties, hundreds and cash, and to go into that Goyard bag while doing it. Fans turned that line into a real world moment weeks before Summer Jam ever happened, with Yung Miami running a “Spend Dat” dance challenge online and gifting the winner, a fan known as Mr. Flawdaaa, an actual Goyard bag filled with cash. That online moment clearly set the stage for what she brought to the Summer Jam stage this weekend, except this time the bag and the cash went straight into the crowd instead of into one winner’s hands.

The song has not been without its critics. Since its release, “Spend Dat” has drawn pushback from people who see the lyrics as glorifying reckless spending and, in some interpretations, worse behavior tied to the “boostin” references in the second verse. Yung Miami has not slowed down because of that criticism. If anything, Friday night’s performance leaned directly into the exact imagery people have argued about, cash, a Goyard bag, and a crowd going wild for both.

What makes this moment stand out is how far Yung Miami has taken a single lyric and turned it into a signature bit. A song is one thing. Handing a real bag with real money to a real fan online is another. Standing on one of hip hop’s biggest stages and throwing cash out of that same bag in front of a packed arena is something else entirely. It is a level of commitment to the bit that most artists do not go for, and it is exactly the kind of moment that makes a song like this one stick around past the summer it dropped in.

Summer Jam has built its reputation over more than three decades on unforgettable stage moments, and Yung Miami’s cash toss is already circulating as one of the standout clips from this year’s show. Whether it becomes the moment people remember from Summer Jam 2026 depends on what else happened across the two stage lineup that night, but as far as artists fully committing to their own song’s premise in real time, this one is hard to top.
