Zaire Wade, the eldest son of NBA legend Dwyane Wade, is facing serious legal trouble after being arrested in Burbank on suspicion of felony domestic violence.
According to TMZ, the 24-year-old former basketball player was arrested Sunday and booked by the Burbank Police Department on three reported charges: felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment. An emergency protective order was also issued.
NBC Los Angeles reports officers were called to a home around 5:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported hearing a woman screaming. When police arrived, law enforcement sources said they found Zaire and a woman who allegedly had lacerations on her face and body. Paramedics responded, but the woman was not taken to a hospital.
NBC Los Angeles also reported that a handgun was taken from the home after the arrest. Zaire later posted $50,000 bond and was released the same day. The case is expected to be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
The Burbank Police Department’s public arrest log lists Zaire Blessing Wade’s arrest date as June 21 and identifies the listed charges as felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment with violence/fraud/deceit. The log’s summary also states: “Male arrested for domestic violence, criminal threats, false imprisonment, and attempted murder. EPO obtained.” However, attempted murder does not appear among the publicly listed charge lines in the same entry.
Zaire has spent much of his life in the spotlight as the son of Dwyane Wade, a three-time NBA champion and Hall of Fame inductee. He played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon in California, where he was part of a high-profile program that also included Bronny James, before turning pro instead of taking the college route.
He later played for the Salt Lake City Stars in the NBA G League and signed with the Cape Town Tigers in the Basketball Africa League. ESPN previously reported that Wade averaged 4.6 points and 1.9 assists during his G League stint before heading overseas.
As of now, Zaire has not publicly commented on the arrest. He has not been convicted of a crime, and the case remains pending.

I agree with Mo’Nique wholeheartedly. I couldn’t believe that all these years later Oprah felt the necessity of telling that story, especially after begging the audience not to speak on what had just happened.
