Draya’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboy star Orlando Scandrick is willing to make Draya an offer she can’t refuse — or can she? The 29 year old Basketball Wives LA star recently appeared on Power 106’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood where she discussed the third season of the reality show and how Orlando feels about it. “You know what? I think it’s been really hard on my boyfriend,” Draya said. “We watch it together and he’s came to the point already. It’s been episode one, we saw 60 minutes of what is going to be going on for 12 weeks and he’s like ‘You know what? I don’t think you should do this next year. How much are they paying you again? I’ll pay you double to sit your ass on the couch.”
Considering that all of the episodes so far are about Orlando messing with Jackie Christie’s daughter, I could see where he would come to this conclusion. But here’s the thing, if it weren’t for Basketball Wives LA, would Orlando know who Draya was?
This can go either very well or very badly for Draya. Let’s look at both sides of the coin. Let’s say Draya takes Orlando’s offer and quits the show. Let us not forget that prior to Basketball Wives Draya was a stripper in Philly and that’s basically all she had. Basketball Wives LA has afforded Draya a LOT of opportunities and like the “wives” of the past, she could easily fade into obscurity without it. We don’t know if she’s been putting money away and let’s face it, she has mouths to feed. If God forbid her and Orlando break up, then what? What if Orlando gets injured and can’t play football or gets dropped from the Cowboys? Her swimwear isn’t moving units and I don’t see anyone wearing Fly.Ass.Girls. She can only host parties for so long until some new, younger and prettier “it” girl comes and takes her spot. Is it worth it?
The other scenario is that she does not accept Orlando’s offer and continues to do the show. She will only be as relevant as the show is, which means that her livelihood is highly dependent on how well the show continues to do. We all know, these reality shows don’t last forever and neither do the checks. Is it worth possibly losing the man you love, the man that could marry you and give you forever, for something that is only good right now? Will she eventually get tired of the catty bickering and want to move on and do something better with her life?
So what did Draya decide? Aside from the fact that Draya signed a 5 year contract with Basketball Wives LA, she decided that she’s going to stick around for a while. “Well, I think that ‘Basketball Wives’ is my date to the prom so I gotta dance with her for a little bit because that’s who I came with,” she explained. “But I don’t have to go home to her at the end of the night. So I would like to do my own thing eventually. Once the ‘Basketball Wives’ train comes to a stop, I would like to graduate into the Draya Show and I’m already transitioning into that.”
What do you think of Draya’s decision? Do you see the Draya Show happening? Ladies, would you drop your career over a man?
