SZA has joined the voice cast for CoComelon: The Movie, where she will lend her voice to a completely new character created specifically for the big screen.
The role marks her latest film appearance following her performance in the 2025 comedy One of These Days.
The voice cast features several new additions, with Nicholas Hoult and Sarah Sherman leading the new lineup. The ensemble also includes Ike Barinholtz, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Rhys Darby, and Cristo Fernández. Familiar voices from the franchise will reprise their roles, including Connor Esterson as JJ, Camden Brooks as Cody, Olivia London Leyva as Nina, and Aerina DeBoer as CeCe.
Kat Good is directing the feature film, bringing her animation experience from her work on Kung Fu Panda. The musical elements will be managed by Justin Tranter, a prominent songwriter who has crafted hits for Chappell Roan, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez. Tranter serves as the executive music producer for the theatrical project.
Universal Pictures will handle the theatrical release, scheduling the film to hit theaters on February 19, 2027. The plot expands on the established children’s universe, sending JJ and his core group of friends on a narrative journey driven by original music.
