21 Savage Urges Young Thug to Defend Gunna's Name In Leaked Jail Call: "You Hold His Career in Your Hands" [Video]

Just when you thought the YSL case and its aftermath couldn’t deliver more chaos, another leaked jailhouse conversation between 21 Savage and Young Thug adds more layers to the snitch drama.

In the recording, 21 puts it plainly in regards to Gunna allegedly being a snitch.

“I don’t feel like shawty did what he did with the intention of hurting you.,” he stated.

Thug admits he thought about publicly defending Gunna, but decided against it. He tells 21, it’s already “over” for Gunna’s rap career. But 21 doesn’t agree. He argues that if Thug speaks up, it could shift public perception.

“You hold his career in your hand, bruh…if you come out and tell the world what he did wasn’t wrong…if you come out and tell the world you was in agreeance with that s**t, his career ain’t over,” the Atlanta star explained.

But Thug pushes back, saying it’s too late. People close to him have already “cut ties” with Gunna to defend Thug’s own reputation. Still, 21 fires back: they “jumped the gun.”

Gunna accepted an Alford plea in December 2022. The agreement allowed him to maintain his innocence while acknowledging that the prosecution had enough evidence to likely secure a guilty verdict. This plea settled a conspiracy charge in the case, resulting in Gunna’s release from jail with time served and a four-year suspended sentence. Since then, snitching allegations have followed him, despite others in the case taking similar deals.
