Joe Budden is not letting the latest roast controversy slide. During a fiery reaction on his podcast, Budden blasted the comedy set from Tony Hinchcliffe at the recent Kevin Hart Netflix Roast, specifically calling out a George Floyd joke that immediately sparked criticism online.

Joe didn’t dance around how he felt either. He called Hinchcliffe a “racist piece of s**t” and questioned why he was allowed at what he described as a Black event honoring Kevin Hart in the first place. According to the former rapper, the issue went beyond one punchline. He said the energy shifted long before the George Floyd reference landed.
“The Kill Tony George Floyd joke was horrible,” Joe said. “And I felt like Kev smiling during it was horrible, even if that’s him with his game face on.”
Budden also pointed to another moment during the set where Hinchcliffe joked that he looked like a slave master forcing enslaved people to perform musicals. Joe admitted the initial joke got laughs, but said things escalated when Hinchcliffe physically acted it out while facing a section where Black guests were seated.
“Somebody needs to slap the s**t out of him,” Budden added during the rant.
The backlash surrounding the roast continues to grow online, with social media split between people defending edgy comedy and others saying certain topics should never become punchlines, especially in rooms built around celebrating Black entertainers. Kevin Hart has not publicly addressed Joe Budden’s comments as of now.
