Diddy’s Release Date Moves Up, And 50 Cent Is Already Predicting His First Day Out Party

50 Cent saw Diddy’s updated prison timeline and went straight for the one part of his legacy people still can’t stop debating: the parties.

After reports surfaced that Diddy projected prison release date has been moved up to February 23, 2028, 50 Cent jumped online with the kind of jab that sits somewhere between trolling and cultural commentary. The Diddy release date update comes as Diddy continues serving a 50-month federal sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

50 Cent wrote, “Diddy coming homes soon he short now, you know he gonna have the craziest party ever! LOL who going? You going!”

Collage-style image with torn-paper strips across a close-up of a man's face and a red news banner reading “Diddy Prison Time Shortened Again,” suggesting a dramatic headline from Deadline.

That line landed because Diddy’s parties were never just parties. For years, his White Parties helped define celebrity excess, especially in the Hamptons, where hip-hop money, fashion, athletes, models, Hollywood names, and industry power all showed up in one all-white dress code. The guest lists became part of the mythology, with names like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, and others tied to the era in past reporting.

However, that same party image now carries a much heavier shadow. Federal prosecutors alleged Diddy used power, money, drugs, threats, and coercion in a broader criminal case that included accusations involving “Freak Offs.” A jury ultimately convicted him only on the prostitution-transportation counts, while clearing him of the more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking charges.

That is why 50’s joke hit with extra weight. Diddy once built part of his public image around being the ultimate host, the man who could make billionaires, rappers, actors, and socialites orbit the same room. Now, even the idea of a future celebration comes wrapped in the legal fallout that changed how the public looks at those rooms.

The tension between 50 Cent and Diddy has also grown louder in recent years. 50 executive produced the Netflix docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” which focused on allegations and controversy surrounding Combs, and he previously said proceeds would support sexual assault victims.

More recently, 50 also reacted after a leaked video involving Diddy and Daphne Joy, the mother of his son Sire, surfaced online. Addressing the situation, he said, “When we think of women, we go empowerment for women, but let’s not forget that there’s some hoes… [and predators],” he explained. “So there are people who are there who are looking for those things. They look for that.”

So while Diddy’s release date may have moved closer, 50 Cent is making it clear the public conversation is not going anywhere.
