Tekashi 6ix9ine is sounding off, questioning why Young Thug isn’t getting the same treatment he received after leaked audio surfaced of Thug allegedly speaking to law enforcement about criminal activity tied to his circle.

The audio, which recently surfaced online, reportedly dates back two years and features someone believed to be Young Thug speaking with police about multiple crimes involving people he knew. One name dropped in the nearly two-hour conversation was Peewee Roscoe, the same man accused in the 2015 shooting at Lil Wayne’s tour bus. While some fans and figures like Roscoe have brushed off the tape, calling it nothing, others have started to question the silence from Thug’s peers.
That silence is what pushed 6ix9ine to speak up.
On Friday, the Brooklyn-born rapper took to Instagram Stories to express his frustration with how the situation is being handled by the hip-hop community. He tagged major Atlanta figures like Lil Baby, Future, and 21 Savage, asking why nobody has spoken up.
“Why everybody so quiet?” he asked. “When all the songs coming out calling ya man Spider a rat?”
He continued, “Where all the energy from the rap community? Y’all waiting and hoping this to blow over? Hoping and praying people forget?”
In a series of videos, 6ix9ine expanded on his point, saying he stayed quiet for two days just to see how people would react to the leaked audio.
“I stood quiet two days just watching it play out. Watching what excuses the people come up with. Every time a n***a come out, y’all move the goalposts further,” he said.
He made it clear that when it was his turn to face legal issues, he didn’t deny anything and stood on what he did.
“I wear my s**t. I wore my s**t from day one. Yeah, I did it. And what? I’m outside,” he said.
Back in 2019, 6ix9ine testified in federal court against members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang, a move that painted a permanent target on his back in hip-hop. He insists the situation was different because he didn’t turn on his actual friends.
“I never told on my friends,” he claimed.
With Young Thug still on probation for a massive RICO case involving his YSL collective, this new audio could stir even more controversy.
