Loren LoRosa

Loren LoRosa has spent years building her name in media, but her journey is about more than breaking news. From working her way up at TMZ to becoming the voice you hear on The Breakfast Club, LoRosa told Baller Alert about her journey navigating personal life and work without losing sight of herself.

After seven years at TMZ, LoRosa left the newsroom to focus on her own platform, Brown Girl Grinding. Although there was concern about leaving legacy media and how the move would affect her industry connections, the media maven soon realized that many publicists, managers, and talent were, in fact, eager to support her independent journey.

“I thought it was going to be really hard because I was like, because I’m not at TMZ anymore, people aren’t going to pick up the phone from me anymore,” LaRosa told Baller Alert. “It shocked me that so many people were like, girl, we couldn’t wait for you to leave. What you need?”

Loren’s transition also meant stepping into a new role as an on-air personality. When she first appeared on The Breakfast Club as a guest host, she had no idea how much her career would change. Instead of waiting for the perfect strategy, she shared her story and allowed audiences to get to know the woman behind the reporting. She was free to show personality and still be trusted as a credible storyteller.

Now, as a senior news producer at The Breakfast Club and host of The Latest with Loren LoRosa, she continues to expand her voice and business ventures. Her latest project, Love Lately with Loren LoRosa, is an eight-episode audio series exploring relationships, breakups, communication, and sexual health. The series is meant to open the floor to conversations about topics women are navigating in real time.

But with multiple projects, travel, and professional commitments, LaRosa is also learning that success requires boundaries.

“I think the grind has phases of life,” Loren said. “In the phase of the grind that I’m in right now, it’s a lot about being smarter than harder. I can’t afford to wear myself down to the ground.” For Radio Personality, maintaining a personal life means making intentional choices. She prioritizes time with friends and family, chooses which events deserve her energy, and recognizes when she needs to say no. Her faith also helps keep her grounded, while quality time with her people is a reminder that relationships deserve the same care as her career.

Loren’s family, particularly her mother and grandmother, have reminded her to put her phone down and be present. To help manage her growing responsibilities, LaRosa uses tools like Google Workspace and TextNow, which she operates as a separate business line to organize professional contacts and follow up on connections without mixing work with her personal communications.

As she navigates her own relationship journey, LaRosa is embracing the conversations that come with learning, growing, and allowing herself to be vulnerable. Her advice to aspiring journalists and creatives is simple: Start now, stay consistent, and build something that reflects who you are.

“Everything is happening for you and not to you,” she said. For LoRosa, the grind is not slowing down. It’s evolving…fast.
