Kodak Black may be ready to turn his unpredictable live appearances into a more serious streaming business, especially as Kai Cenat faces challenges of his own in the streaming space.

The Florida rapper recently spoke on social media about making livestreaming a permanent part of his career. Kodak said people including Adrien Broner have encouraged him to get deeper into the space, while recent drama involving Kai Cenat made him feel like the time to move is now.“If Kai is a weirdo now…it definitely needs me to save it,” he said of the streaming game.
Kodak Black streaming is not entirely new, however. In October 2024, Kodak announced a Kick channel under the handle @KodakBlack11. His first Kick stream opened with a dramatic scene after his vehicle caught fire, turning his debut into an instant viral moment. More recently, Streams Charts shows that the same Kodak Black account streamed on October 6, 2026.
Blueface offers one of the clearest examples of why rappers may be looking at livestreaming differently. In September 2026, Blueface said his weekly Kick earnings had climbed above $136,000. That figure came from Blueface himself and has not been independently audited, but his audience activity is easier to track. StreamMetrix recorded roughly 9,700 average viewers across a recent seven-day period while Blueface streamed more than 60 hours. His online presence has clearly developed beyond an occasional side project.
T-Pain built that bridge years earlier. In an interview with Highsnobiety, the singer and rapper said he had been playing games on Twitch since 2014 and saw more people discover his broadcasts during the pandemic. The publication also reported that T-Pain regularly used Twitch for gaming and recording sessions, allowing viewers to see parts of his creative process that would normally happen away from the public.
Logic took a more formal route. Universal Music Canada announced in 2020 that he had signed an exclusive streaming partnership with Twitch. The agreement called for weekly broadcasts featuring studio sessions, special guests, question-and-answer formats, and gaming. Rather than treating Twitch as a place to simply promote finished records, Logic built the platform into a regular fan access point. His move showed that livestreaming could function as a structured extension of an artist’s brand instead of an occasional celebrity appearance.
Soulja Boy has also leaned heavily into live content. His official Kick profile promotes The Soulja Boy Show as a mix of music, gaming, behind-the-scenes content, and real-life adventures. Streams Charts recorded nearly 90 hours of Soulja Boy broadcasts during a recent 30-day period, including lengthy Just Chatting and real-life sessions. For an artist long associated with internet-driven promotion, regular streaming gives him another direct line to an online audience.
What separates livestreaming from a standard promotional appearance is repetition. A rapper can return several times a week, let fans watch ordinary conversations, gaming sessions, or studio work, and turn personality into the main event. That matters in a media environment where audiences can become invested in the person behind the songs. The strongest streams feel less like interviews and more like ongoing shows.
That larger shift is what makes Kodak Black’s renewed interest worth watching. He already has a Kick presence, and he has experienced how quickly an unscripted livestream appearance can become part of the wider hip hop conversation. Yahoo Entertainment reported on his appearance during Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon in November 2024, when clips from the broadcast quickly generated attention online.
Kodak’s comments also arrive while Kai Cenat is dealing with several controversies outside of his record-breaking streams. Former Clover Boys member and one-time collaborator Reggie, also known as Lil Rodney Son, recently accused Cenat of grooming 17-year-old streamer RaKai and encouraging inappropriate behavior for online attention. Cenat strongly denied Reggie’s accusations, challenged him to bring any evidence to authorities, and said he planned to pursue legal action. RaKai also publicly denied Reggie’s claims about him, saying he had never been abused or inappropriately touched growing up. Days later, influencer Gorgeous Doll made a separate set of allegations about Cenat. She claimed she became pregnant with twins during an alleged 2023 relationship with Cenat and that he agreed to pay $200,000 for an abortion before allegedly sending her $150,000.
The question now is not whether Kodak Black can stream. He already has. The real question is whether he wants to treat streaming like a serious lane with a dependable schedule, recurring concepts, and enough structure to keep viewers returning.
