The stepfather of the Mississippi hip-hop duo, Rae Sremmurd, was shot and killed on Monday night, and the brother of the rap act is in custody for the crime.
According to TMZ, police say they responded to emergency calls on Monday and dispatched to the family’s Tupelo home. Upon arrival, 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan, the stepdad of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Michael Brown, the younger brother of the Mississippi duo, was then taken into custody as a person of interest and is currently being held for psychiatric evaluation.
According to the publication, Sullivan raised the “No Type” rappers after the two moved to Mississippi with their mother, Bernadette. The two also had a son together, Floyd Jr.
Our condolences to Rae Sremmurd and family.
