The Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers, and Utah Jazz have reached an agreement in which Hawks point guard Jeff Teague will be traded to the Pacers, Pacers point guard George Hill will be traded to the Jazz, and the Jazz will give the #12 overall NBA draft pick to the Hawks.

The terms of the deal went public on Wednesday, but the actual trade will not become official until July.

Jeff Teague was drafted by the Hawks in 2009 and has spent his entire career in Atlanta. Throughout his seven seasons with Atlanta, he has averaged 12.1 points and 5.2 assists in the regular season and 13.3 points and 4.7 assists in the post season. This past season, he averaged 15.7 points and 5.9 assists per game. According to sources, Teague is thrilled to be returning to his hometown of Indianapolis.

George Hill has been with the Pacers since 2011, when he was traded to Indy by the Spurs. In his five seasons with the Pacers, he averaged 12.5 points and 3.9 assists in the regular season and 13.5 points and 3 assists in the postseason. This past season, he averaged 12.1 points and 3.5 assists per game. Utah is hopeful that picking up Hill will help them to reach the playoffs next year.

As for the Hawks, they have acquired the #12 pick in Thursday’s NBA draft from the Jazz, in addition to the #21 overall draft pick that they already had. Some sources say they are possibly eyeing Michigan State’s Deyonta Davis, Utah’s Jakob Poeltl, or Gonzaga’s Domantas Sabonis, while new reports suggest they may be looking to trade away their two first-round picks for a higher pick. In Teague’s absence, Dennis Schroeder is set to take his place as the starting point guard.
