Around 5 am Friday, a Missouri man fatally shot his girlfriend while driving. He then crashed his vehicle into a utility pole before shooting himself.
When St. Louis County authorities arrived on the scene, the shooter was still alive and taken into custody.
However, he later succumbed to his self-inflicted injuries, Law and Crime reported.
Police are still in the process of investigating the murder-suicide that occurred on Bellefontaine Road near I-270.
As of now, authorities believe the two people, described as boyfriend and girlfriend in the police report, were traveling in a white sedan when the boyfriend opened fire, killing the woman. Allegedly, the shooter crashed his vehicle into a utility pole, fled the scene, and shot himself in the head when confronted by police.
