Quentin Tarantino Speaks Out Against Police Brutality, Cops Call For Boycott

In today’s “You maaaaaad” news, the NYPD police union is calling for a boycott of Quentin Tarantino films after he spoke out against police brutality.

Tarantino was one of thousands who participated in a rally over the weekend, shedding light on the many instances of police violence against people of color. Tarantino called the officers in questions “murderers”.  “I’m a human being with a conscience,” Tarantino said at the protest. “If you believe there’s murder going on then you need to rise up and stand up against it. I’m here to say I’m on the side of the murdered.”

Apparently that didn’t sit well with certain members of the force. “It’s no surprise that someone who makes a living glorifying crime and violence is a cop-hater, too,” Police Benevolent Association’s president Patrick J. Lynch said in a statement.

“The police officers that Quentin Tarantino calls ‘murderers’ aren’t living in one of his depraved big screen fantasies — they’re risking and sometimes sacrificing their lives to protect communities from real crime and mayhem,” Lynch added. “New Yorkers need to send a message to this purveyor of degeneracy that he has no business coming to our city to peddle his slanderous ‘Cop Fiction.’ It’s time for a boycott of Quentin Tarantino’s films.”

Fox News host, Harris Faulkner, who happens to be a black female, says that Quentin Tarantino has no business protesting police brutality because “e has made violence humorous in his films.”

Whatever NYPD and FOX News, you won’t get me to stop watching Pulp Fiction anytime soon and I still was thoroughly entertained by Django.

Here’s the thing, Tarantino delivers fantasy. Rated R fantasy for adults. That’s all it ever will be. Unfortunately the senseless killings of black people at the hands of police is NOT a fantasy. It’s not a movie. It’s not a television show. It’s very real. So while you’re risking your life day after day, at least you get to do so with a bullet proof vest and a gun. Black people get a bag of skittles, a loose cigarette and a metro card. Think about that for a moment.

Tarantino has voiced his support of President Obama and the Black Lives Matter movement in the past. I’m voicing my support of Quentin Tarantino.
