Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is dealing with a heartbreaking family situation. His 2 year old son was hospitalized in critical condition after an alleged assault in South Dakota, according to local reports.
Emergency responders arrived at the child’s home in Sioux Falls on Wednesday evening and found the toddler unresponsive. Local law enforcement said he had severe head injuries consistent with abuse. Reports say the man dating the child’s mother, 27 year old Joseph Patterson, was alone with the child and called 911 to report that he had been choking.
Patterson was arrested and charged with aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant. A charge is not a conviction. Peterson’s father, Nelson Peterson, asked for prayers and for privacy for the family.
Our thoughts are with Peterson and everyone who loves this little boy.
