The New Music Friday lineup is bringing standout releases, each of which is perfect for fans of trap and street storytelling.
Nardo Wick returns with “Can’t Trust.” For the Jacksonville, Florida star, this isn’t just another record to hold fans over. Released November 6, the single follows his August 28 release “IS DAT RIGHT?” and continues a new chapter for the rapper following his 2025 album “WICK.” Speaking exclusively with Baller Alert, Nardo revealed that choosing “Can’t Trust” as the follow-up was a creative decision between him and Hitmaker. Rather than release music without a clear direction, the two worked together to decide which record should come next. And while fans are getting new bars, Nardo already has his sights set on a bigger project.
His next album is slated for 2027, and he’s looking forward to reconnecting with listeners who have been along for the journey since day one.
“I’m excited for my fans to feel my energy in these songs and fill that void that’s been missing for them musically,” Nardo told Baller Alert.
These words offer a glimpse at his priorities. Since breaking out with “Who Want Smoke??,” Nardo has built his reputation on a distinct delivery and dark, stripped-down production. Now, with two singles following “WICK,” he’s laying the groundwork for what comes next without giving away the entire plan.
Meanwhile, Lil Baby is coming through with one of the week’s biggest album releases. The Atlanta rapper officially dropped “Fresh” through Quality Control Music and Motown Records. The 17-track project marks his fifth studio album and follows 2025’s “WHAM” and “The Leaks.”
Unlike some of his previous projects, “Fresh” keeps its featured artists to a tight circle. Future, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez join him on “All My Partnas,” while Rylo makes another appearance on “In Your Head.”

However, one of the album’s most important collaborations happened behind the boards.
Pharrell Williams produced “Dead Fresh,” the lead single that Lil Baby first previewed during Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2027 menswear presentation in Paris. The song reached No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and climbed to No. 1 on Urban and Rhythmic radio.
Production credits across the album also include Metro Boomin and London on Da Track, giving Baby a familiar foundation while leaving room for different sounds. He also released a music video for “Mr. Do Something,” which takes him through his old Atlanta neighborhood.
Then there’s Future, who apparently decided one superstar feature wasn’t enough. His new single, “Ya Hit,” brings together Drake, Travis Scott, and Loe Shimmy for a collaboration that’s already commanding attention.
Produced by ATL Jacob and London Cyr, the three-minute record combines distorted bass, dark synths, and contrasting vocal styles. Loe Shimmy handles the hook, Travis Scott brings his signature energy, and Drake delivers a verse that includes a pointed line about someone’s album. Sexyy Red also contributes ad-libs during Drake’s appearance.
The Drake collaboration adds another layer to the release. Future and Drake have a lengthy history of making hits together, including their 2015 joint project “What a Time to Be Alive.” Following the tensions surrounding the 2024 rap feud, the two reconnected musically earlier this year on “Ran To Atlanta.”
Now, “Ya Hit” puts them together again, this time alongside Travis and rising Florida rapper Loe Shimmy. The song also serves as the first official single from Future’s forthcoming album, although a title and release date have not been announced.
While Nardo Wick is building toward his next album, Lil Baby is delivering a completely new body of work, and Future is assembling the Avengers of rap, securing another hit. This weekend’s playlist has options, and below unpacks even more gems for the clique link-ups or solo vibes.
