Reality television pioneer Andy Cohen will executive produce and host a seven-part series that will spill the tea on some of reality TV’s most memorable moments.
“I’m thrilled to look back at the shows that formed my love for reality TV and interview the icons of the genre,” said Cohen. “This series is like great candy!”
The limited series titled “For Real: The Story of Reality TV,” which will debut early next year on E!. Each episode will focus on iconic moments in reality television that impacted the culture in one way or another. The series will focus on moments from TV favorites such as Real Housewives, Survivor, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, The Bachelor, and The Real World. Cohen will also be sitting down with the stars of those moments to get the scoop on what transpired behind the scenes.
“The series will rewind the clock and revisit some of the most iconic reality television moments that have undoubtedly shaped the world we live in today and share the inside scoop from the icons who lived it,” the press release read.
The series will be produced by KUWTK producer Bunim/Murray Productions and Cohen’s production company Most Talkative. Aside from Cohen, Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi, David Sambuchi, and Lauren Lazinare also executive producing, with Lazinare also serving as showrunner.
This latest venture is right up Cohen’s alley, who has become a fixture in unscripted television. He has hosted and executive produced Bravo’s late-night talk show Watch What Happens Live for over a decade. In addition, he helped to launch the Real Housewives franchise in the early 2000’s, which he also executive produces. The 52-year-old also hosts the reunion specials for the Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, Shahs of Sunset, Below Deck and Southern Charm.
