Anthony Anderson Opens Up About Love Story With Rocsi Diaz: “It’s A Beautiful Thing” [Video]

After fans spotted Anthony Anderson and Rocsi Diaz walking hand-in-hand during Golden Globes weekend, the 55-year-old actor is finally confirming what everyone already suspected. While he recently teased to People that he was “no longer a bachelor,” he sat down with Angie Martinez on her “IRL Podcast” to give the full story on his new romance.

According to Anderson, the relationship wasn’t something he spent years chasing. Instead, he credits perfect timing for bringing them together.

“It was something that just happened. We just happened to be in the same place at the same time, at the right time…in life,” he shared during the interview.

Interestingly enough, Anderson admitted that he wasn’t exactly pining for Rocsi during her “106 & Park” heyday. While he acknowledged she was a “cutie” back then, he told Martinez they’ve actually been in the same social circles for nearly 20 years without things ever turning romantic, noting that they simply happened to be in the same space in their lives when the spark finally lit.

This new chapter comes about two years after Anderson finalized his divorce from Alvina Stewart, and he’s clear that he’s showing up as a different man this time around. He admitted that he had to intentionally change his ways to make room for a real partner.

“I realized that I was never going to have [the relationship I wanted] if I was to continue doing what I was doing,” he said. He’s now focused on a healthy balance rather than just chasing the next acting gig.

When Martinez mentioned that Rocsi is getting an “evolved” version of him, Anderson was quick to add that he’s also reaping the benefits of his own growth. He believes that by clearing a path and deciding what he truly wanted in a companion, the universe delivered.

As for Rocsi, she has always been notoriously private, once stating she prefers to keep her dating life under wraps unless things are headed toward the altar.
