The assault complaint against ASAP Rocky has stalled, according to TMZ, because the paperwork has not been delivered to him.
The complaint stems from the Made In America festival in Philadelphia over Labor Day weekend. A woman identified in reports as Lisa alleges that Rocky hit her with an open palm while moving through a crowd of dancing fans, and says the incident left her with whiplash. The Associated Press reported on September 5, 2013 that a message left with his publicity agency was not immediately returned, and no statement from his camp was included in the reports. These are allegations, and no court has ruled on them.
So why no trial? Since police did not see the alleged incident and it would be a misdemeanor, Lisa was told to file a private criminal complaint with the District Attorney. That means she has to supply contact information for the person named in the complaint. TMZ reported that her attorneys sent the paperwork to Rocky’s record label by certified mail, but it came back because he was not there to sign for it. The D.A. cannot move forward until she provides an address where Rocky can be served.
Until that happens, the case sits on pause. We will update you if anything changes.
