ASAP Rocky may be battling his own legal issues, but he still took a moment to praise Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy wins.

The rapper was caught by paparazzi leaving the courtroom on Tuesday and weighed in on his former collaborator’s big night.

“K. Dot, he deserved every one of them,” Rocky stated.

Chaos breaks out in LA, just a block from the courthouse where A$AP Rocky wrapped Day 6 of his criminal trial. We ask him about the protests—his message? Keep the peace. He also shows love to Kendrick, saying he deserved all five of his Grammys last night. #ASAPRocky #KendrickLamar #LA

As you know, Lamar took home Record Of The Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Music Video, and Song Of The Year for “Not Like Us” at the Grammys over the weekend. The evening was a slightly bittersweet one for Lamar as he revealed on stage that his aunt passed away just one day before the ceremony. Nevertheless, he celebrated with the single’s producer, Mustard, who also expressed his gratitude for the honor. “Not Like Us” has sold over six million copies in the United States, becoming a major success.

Rocky’s support of Lamar comes as no surprise, given their history. In addition to shared disdain for Drake, the men previously worked together on Rocky’s smash hit, “F**kin’ Problem,” as well as “1 Train.”

Lamar’s victory may be a welcome distraction for Rocky, who is on trial for allegedly shooting his ex-friend, ASAP Relli. The Harlem performer has maintained his innocence.
