Russell “Hollywood” Simpson came to Baller Alert for an exclusive response after a statement attributed to Kerry Rhodes’ camp disputed his account of their alleged relationship. Baller Alert broke this story and was first to interview Simpson. Baller Alert has not independently verified either side.
The response from Rhodes’ side
Rhodes has denied being gay and has said the man in the vacation photos is his assistant. The site Media Take Out reported that an unnamed person with knowledge of the situation said Simpson likely embellished the nature of the relationship and that Rhodes was “taking steps” to make sure Simpson would not speak publicly again. Simpson took that as a threat. Rhodes has not been quoted directly on that statement.
What Simpson told Baller Alert
Simpson said no one can stop him from speaking and that he will keep telling his side. He said he is not outing Rhodes, because Rhodes himself responded when he was asked about the photos. He added that he believes the attention could end up helping Rhodes, and that he is not trying to hurt him.
Rhodes’ denial remains his public position, and Simpson’s account remains his own claim. We will keep you posted.
