Fresh off the highly-anticipated premiere of his Netflix show, “Trigger Warning with Killer Mike,” the Grammy Award-winning rapper chopped it up with Baller Alert to talk current events, politics and 21 Savage.
“I’m really hoping he gets to stay in the States,” Mike said of 21 Savage, who was recently arrested by ICE over his alleged “unlawful presence” in the United States as a United Kingdom national. “I think he’s provided great economic opportunities for people around him and he has a team that’s brought money to his community to my greater community in Atlanta – I think that’s an asset.”
“I think people like that should stay in this country, our country was made by people who fled other countries and worked their ass off,” Mike continued. “He’s worked his ass off, he’s did good – he should stay.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Killer Mike opened up about the presidential candidates, none of whom he’s willing to offer his support to at this point – simply because his “guy is not running.”
“My guy is not running yet, I hope he does. I don’t know,” Mike said, adding that he had no interest in endorsing United States Senator from New Jersey, Cory Booker.
