Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan are addressing the rumors about their canceled wedding, and they say they’re still together.
The Basketball Wives couple sat down with Vibe and talked about the speculation that their wedding was off because of infidelity. Matt said they opened themselves up to it by putting their family life on TV. “We know what’s going on and our family knows what’s going on so that’s what’s most important,” he said, adding that a lot of what people hear isn’t true.
Gloria explained that the wedding was postponed, not canceled for good, and that people ran with it once word got out. She said they let family and groomsmen know by text, and missing a former teammate’s wedding they were supposed to attend fueled even more rumors.
As for why they postponed it, Gloria said marriage isn’t something they want to rush. “It wasn’t any outside party,” she said. “We’re committed and dedicated to working on our relationship and we’re still together.” She said marriage is still their goal, but they want the timing to be right.
Not everyone is buying it, and plenty of people online have their own theories. But for now, Matt and Gloria say they’re working on their family.
