Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem has been arrested for marijuana possession after a traffic stop in South Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol pulled Haslem over because his car’s windows were tinted too dark. According to the police report, troopers found marijuana in the car, and Haslem was charged.
A source close to Haslem reached out to Baller Alert with his side of the story. The source says the marijuana belonged to a longtime friend who was in the car, and that Haslem has no criminal record. According to the source, Haslem was held at the scene for more than an hour during multiple searches, including with K9 units, and then spent nearly three more hours with the Highway Patrol before being charged.
Haslem has been a pillar in Miami, both on the court and in the community, so a lot of fans are surprised by this one. He has not commented publicly.
Hopefully this gets cleared up quickly for UD.
