The public has seen the high-fashion outfits and the global travels, but behind closed doors, things between Ye and Bianca Censori were reportedly falling apart. Fresh off his high-profile apology in The Wall Street Journal and a deep-dive with Vanity Fair, sources are now revealing that Bianca was nearly out the door.
According to PEOPLE, the 31-year-old architect had reached her limit, with an insider stating, “Bianca had been very unhappy in their marriage for a while and tried to get out a number of times.” It turns out, the “vicious cycle” of Ye’s mental health struggles had pushed the relationship to the brink.
In his January 28 interview with Vanity Fair, the 48-year-old mogul opened up about the “deep depressive episode” that changed everything. Ye admitted that he was struggling with the effects of an antipsychotic drug, which eventually led him to check into a rehabilitation facility in Switzerland. Those close to him explain that this isn’t new; it’s a pattern where his mental health declines, drama ensues, and then a wave of “intense guilt and regret” follows once he stabilizes.
This time, however, it seems the fallout almost cost him his marriage, as Bianca was reportedly preparing to leave before he finally committed to getting help.
While the drama has been heavy, Ye’s longtime manager and the man who discovered him, John Monopoly, says things are finally looking up. Monopoly, who has managed Ye since 1992 and lives with bipolar disorder himself, shared that Ye is finally taking accountability for his actions.
“For the first time in a while, he is really approaching his mental health head-on and making a valiant effort to deal with it,” Monopoly told PEOPLE. He emphasized that the rapper is currently in a “great place” and is proud of the work he’s putting in to stay on the right path for himself and those around him.
Ye and Bianca first sparked romance rumors back in late 2022, but this latest chapter proves that even the most famous couples aren’t immune to real-life struggles. Between the Swiss rehab stint and the public apologies, it’s clear that Ye is trying to clean up the “fallout” from his past.
Whether this new focus on stability will be enough to save his marriage remains to be seen, but with his inner circle and his wife finally seeing him take his health seriously, there might actually be a path forward.
