Big Tigger’s legal troubles have escalated after a Fulton County judge granted his wife, Alicia Brown, a temporary protective order requiring the longtime Atlanta radio host to stay away from her and their children.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Brown requested protection after claiming Tigger, whose legal name is Darian Morgan, pushed her head into a door during a May altercation that allegedly left her needing stitches. The order reportedly requires Morgan to stay 200 yards away from Brown and the children and have no contact with them. Brown was also granted temporary custody of the minor children and exclusive use of the family home. Morgan must also surrender access to the home’s Ring cameras and remote gate controls. A hearing is set for July 13.
The protective order comes just days after Morgan was arrested and booked into Fulton County Jail on charges local outlets have identified as aggravated battery and cruelty to children. He was released the same day after posting surety bonds totaling $10,000.
The case stems from an alleged May 9 incident at the couple’s Sandy Springs home. According to arrest warrant details reported by Atlanta outlets, Brown told police the argument began over text messages Morgan allegedly received from a female co-worker. She claimed Morgan raised his voice, called her “psycho,” and began recording her. Brown told investigators she tried to grab the phone, and Morgan allegedly tackled her while trying to get it back.
The situation allegedly moved to a basement office, where Brown said Morgan grabbed her arms and shoved her, causing her to fall headfirst into an office door. Police documents reportedly say Brown suffered a deep cut above her left eye and later received medical treatment. Investigators also said the office altercation was captured on the home’s Ring system. The child cruelty charge is reportedly tied to claims that the couple’s 13-year-old son was inside the home and heard the confrontation.
Brown also claimed in her protective order petition that Morgan pressured her to deny the incident, warned he would make sure she “loses everything” if she spoke out, and later cut off her access to the home’s cameras and gate controls.
Morgan has denied the allegations. Before the arrest, he addressed the situation on air, saying, “I want to say categorically that these allegations and accusations that have been circulating are false.” He also asked for “grace, privacy, and restraint” as his family navigated the matter.
After his arrest, Morgan shared a longer statement on Instagram on Wednesday, writing, “I unequivocally deny every allegation that has been made against me.” He added, “For the past 30+ years, I have built my life around relationships and community. Those who know me know the man, father, husband, and friend I have been throughout my life.”
Morgan continued, “Because this is an active legal matter, I am limited in what I can say. What I can say is that I have complete confidence in the facts and in the legal process. I will continue to cooperate fully and trust that the truth will come to light.”
Brown previously clarified that she had “never called” Morgan an abuser, saying social media had drawn its own conclusions. Still, with a protective order now in place and a July hearing ahead, the case surrounding the former “Rap City” host continues to unfold publicly.
