Bronny James is back with the Los Angeles Lakers after another development stint with the team’s G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. The organization recalled the rookie guard ahead of its upcoming matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The move follows his most recent outing in the G League, where James recorded 15 points along with one rebound and two assists. The appearance gave him another opportunity to see extended minutes while continuing to build confidence on the court.
The Lakers have regularly rotated the young guard between the NBA roster and their G League team this season. Because his playing time with the main squad has been limited at times, the assignments have allowed him to stay active and develop his offensive rhythm.
During the 2025–26 season, James has appeared in 10 G League games while averaging 15.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. Those performances have given him a chance to handle the ball more frequently while continuing to adjust to the professional level.
However, his path in the league has drawn widespread attention because of his historic connection to the franchise. Bronny’s father, LeBron James, remains a central piece of the Lakers roster, and the team made NBA history in 2024 when they drafted Bronny and created the first father-son duo to share the league at the same time.
The situation also sparked headlines earlier this year following an ESPN report that suggested tension between Lakers governor Jeanie Buss and LeBron James.
Buss later pushed back on the claims and addressed the report directly, stating, “It’s really not right, given all the great things LeBron has done for the Lakers, that he has to be pulled into my family drama,” adding that the idea his contributions weren’t valued was “just not true and completely unfair to him.”
