Capricorn Clark, a former music assistant-turned-brand strategist, is stepping into the spotlight in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial, and her testimony is painting a disturbing picture from inside the music mogul’s world.
Clark, who once worked for industry heavyweights like Def Jam and Death Row Records, testified that she joined Combs’ inner circle in 2002 after moving to New York. A headhunter connected her with the Bad Boy Records founder, and by 2004 she was serving as his personal assistant, working closely with him until 2012. Her duties? “Shadow him from wake-up,” she said.
But Clark’s testimony quickly turned from career history to serious allegations.
She described being taken to Central Park late at night by Combs and his associate “Uncle Paulie,” where she claimed Diddy issued a chilling warning: “Since you worked for Suge Knight, if anything happens, I might have to kill you.” Though Clark said she took it seriously, she tried to stay uninvolved. But that moment, she told the court, stuck with her.
She continued her work under Diddy until she was let go in 2012, only to return in 2016 in a role tied to Cassie Ventura’s creative projects. That stint ended in 2018.
However, the most jaw-dropping part of Clark’s testimony came when she described being held against her will for several days in December 2011.
According to Clark, after being accused of stealing jewelry—items she said were given to her on loan—Diddy’s team took extreme measures. She claimed she was brought to a building at 1710 Broadway, taken to a locked upper floor, and confronted by a heavyset man and others who told her she had to take a lie detector test. The implication? If she failed, she’d be thrown into the East River.
“They said I couldn’t leave,” Clark testified. “It lasted five days.”
Uncle Paulie, a key figure throughout her account, reportedly interrogated her and even searched her home in Queens. Clark said she wasn’t free to leave during the entire time she was held. Despite objections from Combs’ attorney, the judge allowed most of the testimony to proceed.
Her testimony is expected to play a major role in the prosecution’s case against Diddy, who is facing mounting allegations connected to abuse, misconduct, and intimidation from multiple former associates and partners.
As the trial continues, Clark’s voice is the latest from inside Diddy’s circle offering a rare look at the power dynamics and alleged threats that surrounded one of hip-hop’s biggest moguls.
