The Cardi B and Akbar V feud erupted again Friday when Cardi B jumped on X Spaces and unleashed on her rival following comments the rapper made about her during Tia Kemp’s livestream.
In audio, Cardi made it clear she was tired of Akbar bringing her name into online conversations and quickly turned what began as a response into an extended confrontation.“Trash. Always bothering women, always bothering people. We all got problems, bro. Everybody got problems,” Cardi said.
Cardi argued that Akbar was attempting to dismiss their issues as part of rap while making statements Cardi viewed as something much more personal.
“Imagine you having problems, b***h, and then somebody that you don’t even f**king know come on the f**king internet talking s**t about you for no f**king reason,” Cardi said.
She continued, “B***h, you disturb my peace. You’re gonna have to pay the price for it.”
The X Spaces came after Akbar had words for Cardi while appearing on Tia Kemp’s livestream Friday. The livestream became the latest flashpoint in a feud that has already spent much of this summer moving between social media, X Spaces and the recording booth.
Cardi became particularly heated while addressing Akbar’s alleged threat about putting blood on someone’s mouth.
“F**king clown, talking about you’re gonna put blood on the b***h mouth. Who you gonna put blood on, b***h?” Cardi said. “Do it now. Do it right now. Do it right now. I want you now.”
She then escalated the challenge.
“Matter of fact, send your best b***h…I’ll be outside comfortable, b***h, all the time. Send it.”
Cardi went on to accuse Akbar of acting tougher for her online audience than she does in real life.
“You make it sound good…to your TikTok friends, b***h, like you’re tough,” Cardi said. “You’re not like that hoe, and everybody pulls your card.”
The feud also became tied to Cardi’s new music after Cardi said Akbar apparently believed a lyric on her new single “AH HA” was aimed at her.
Cardi denied that the song was created as a response to Akbar and said there would be little room for interpretation if she actually decides to address her rival on wax.
“That that s**t was whack. That’s for me, b***h. It ain’t for you, b***h. You’re gonna know when I’m talking about you on the song,” Cardi said. “You’re going to fucking know.”
She added, “I’m gonna let you know I’m talking about you, but you gotta wait on it and sit on it because it’s when I say so, b***h.”
Later, Cardi appeared to figure out which particular line may have convinced Akbar that she was being targeted.
“Oh, maybe that’s why you thought that I was talking about you, because I said ‘You bark pretty loud for a lap dog,’” Cardi said.
She immediately denied writing the line with Akbar in mind.
“But that wasn’t about you…I just be rapping. I just be saying s**t because it just fit in the f**king song,” Cardi said. “When I’m just having fun with s**t…I’m not having nobody or a situation in my mind, I just rap it.”
Still, Cardi did not rule out addressing Akbar musically later.
“I promise you, b***h. I promise you…I got lines catered just for you, and you’re gonna know that it’s about you,” she said. “In the meantime, b***h, enjoy that new f**king record, all right?”
Cardi later told Akbar she would have to wait to hear whatever she has prepared.
The timing is notable because Akbar already took their latest battle into the booth earlier this month. Akbar released “You Ain’t Pretty” on July 3 after another round of tension with Cardi. Akbar used the instrumental from Cardi’s “Pretty & Petty” and directly attacked Cardi throughout the diss track, including references to her relationships, appearance and upbringing.
That record followed another dispute over Cardi’s X Spaces activity. At the time, Akbar believed Cardi was subliminally addressing her in early July when Cardi responded to people telling her to get back into the studio. Cardi did not name Akbar in the remarks that sparked Akbar’s response.
Cardi and Akbar’s issues go back even further.
Their feud became public in September 2022 after Akbar appeared to question the numbers surrounding Cardi and GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2.” The two soon began trading insults directly on Twitter, and the argument became increasingly personal as Offset, Nicki Minaj and members of both women’s families were dragged into the dispute.
The rivalry continued into 2024. Akbar was attacked while out in New York that April and subsequently accused someone connected to Cardi’s circle of being behind the incident. No evidence was shared publicly connecting Cardi to the incident.
Now, after years of insults, Cardi is saying Akbar should not mistake “AH HA” for her official musical response.
