Cardi B said one ex did not just take the breakup badly, he allegedly threatened to harm himself after she left and made threats against her life.
“You see what happens when a b***h really leaves,” she told fans on X Spaces. “We all saw how he almost wanted to kill himself when I left. I didn’t even wanna bring that situation up, because I don’t even want to like fake act, like, I’m trying to come at a n***a or something.”
Cardi did not name the ex in the latest Spaces clip, but the comments quickly pulled attention back to her messy split from Offset. In March 2025, Cardi made similar allegations on X Spaces, claiming Offset was harassing her during their divorce and had sent messages saying he would take his own life and hers. In that same rant, she also alleged he contacted a man she was dealing with and sent explicit material involving her, which raised the temperature on an already nasty public breakup.
Then Cardi turned the conversation toward the pattern she says she keeps seeing when relationships fall apart.
“Why they not with them? Why they don’t be with them when I leave?” she said. “They getting brand new b***hes. Why did they be crashing out over me? Since it’s only because of my name. Since it’s only because of my name, since it’s only because I’m Cardi B. Then it’s like why y’all damn near want to f**king kill yourself, and y’all seeing it in real time, everybody seeing it in real time.”
The relationship history has been turbulent for years. Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in 2024 and sought primary custody of their children. By early 2025, Offset was seeking joint legal custody, while Cardi’s home would remain the children’s primary residence.
The accusations have not been limited to one blowup. In January 2025, Cardi also accused Offset and his mother of robbing her and claimed he failed to buy Christmas gifts for their children. Offset has not publicly addressed every claim in detail.
Outside of Cardi, Celina Powell also accused Offset in January 2026 of owing her more than $15,000 and claimed her attempts to get the money back were met with threats.
For Cardi, the message was not subtle. She says walking away revealed the chaos, and this time, she wanted everyone to hear it in real time.
