Tay Keith’s girlfriend has been confirmed as the one who made the desperate 911 call after the Grammy-nominated producer stopped responding, and the newly released audio is adding a heartbreaking layer to the Tay Keith death investigation.
TMZ reports the call came after she said Keith, born Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, asked her to come over, then went silent for nearly 24 hours. According to the outlet, she told dispatchers she had called him repeatedly and knocked on his door but got no answer. In the audio, she also said Keith had dealt with breathing complications and high blood pressure after the dispatcher asked about known health issues. She described the silence as a full day of “crickets,” a detail that now sits heavy after the update that followed.
The music genius was later found dead inside his Nashville apartment during a welfare check. Metro Nashville Police discovered his body on June 18, 2026, and said foul play was not suspected. His cause of death remains unconfirmed.
The loss hit hip-hop hard because Keith’s fingerprints were all over a major stretch of modern rap. He helped shape records including BlocBoy JB and Drake’s “Look Alive,” Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” and Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town.” Keith earned Grammy nominations for “Sicko Mode” in 2019 and Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex” in 2024.
Keith’s story stretched beyond studio credits. MTSU confirmed he graduated in 2018 and later became an honorary professor in the school’s Recording Industry program. Additionally, he was listed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Music list in 2025.
For now, the 911 audio offers the clearest look at the concern surrounding Keith’s final hours. Authorities have not released an official cause of death.
