Cardi B is making sure two of her oldest children know how to protect themselves, even if she is already imagining some hilarious ways those skills could benefit her years from now.

Cardi revealed during an Instagram Live on Tuesday, August 18, that she signed Kulture and Wave up for boxing classes. Kulture is 8, and Wave is 4, and Cardi explained that she wants them prepared to defend themselves as they get older.“This that age when you need to learn how to fight … Never know when a b***h gon’ try you when you grow up and s**t because you in them white, good schools, but you know you outside,” she explained. “I ain’t going to be there for you all the time.”
Cardi being Cardi, the conversation quickly went from a serious lesson about self-protection to her imagining Kulture and Wave as her personal backup once they are adults.
“And I got some b***hes that I don’t like, so when you 25 and s**t and b***hes f**k with me? You know I’m like, ‘Yeah, b***h. Don’t make me bring out my daughter. Which daughter you want? Which daughter?”
The joke got even more specific when Cardi started planning for retirement age. According to Billboard’s account of the Live, Cardi asked Kulture, “When I’m an old b***h, and I can’t fight no more, you got me?” Kulture seemingly agreed.
That was apparently all the encouragement Cardi needed to create an entire senior citizen scenario.
“When I’m like about 60, and I’m talking s**t to these b***hes, that’s when you come in. ‘Kulture, come beat this b***h a**,” Cardi joked in an elderly accent. “Yeah, she f**ked with me. I’m playing bingo. Yeah, I’m at bingo and this b***h f**king with me. Come over here and bring Blossom too. You’re going to jump a**.”
The exchange also gave fans another look at Cardi’s relationship with her children beyond the polished celebrity family moments. Before ending the Live, Cardi talked about seeing some of her own childhood habits developing in Kulture, including a phase where her daughter does not want to eat much. Cardi said she had a similar habit growing up because she “hated chewing.”
Kulture and Wave are part of a growing household. Cardi is now a mother of four. She shares Kulture, Wave, and younger daughter Blossom with Offset. Cardi also welcomed a baby boy with Stefon Diggs in November 2025.
The playful parenting moment comes while Cardi is enjoying another active stretch professionally. Billboard’s Hot 100 lists her latest single, “AH HA,” at No. 25, while Billboard reports that the song also became her 30th top 10 entry on the Hot Rap Songs chart when it debuted at No. 3. The achievement extended Cardi’s run of landing at least one Hot Rap Songs top 10 in 10 consecutive years.
Her catalog also picked up another major certification this month. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, “WAP,” Cardi’s collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, officially reached Diamond status on August 3 after hitting the equivalent of 10 million certified units in the United States. This achievement gave Cardi her fourth Diamond plaque.
Her recent run follows the success of her sophomore album, “Am I the Drama?” According to Billboard, the project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in September 2025 with 200,000 equivalent album units, giving Cardi her second No. 1 album.
Cardi also added another trophy to the collection this summer. She won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 2026 BET Awards in Los Angeles, where she also performed during the ceremony.
For all the awards, chart numbers, and career milestones, though, Cardi’s latest viral moment was pure mom mode. Kulture and Wave may think they are simply headed to boxing practice, but their mother already has a much longer-term assignment in mind, apparently including emergency backup duty at the bingo hall.
