The father of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez is pushing back against circulating claims that he had any connection to D4vd, the man accused in her murder, firmly denying rumors of financial ties.
Jesus Rivas, speaking through his attorney Patrick Steinfeld, rejected speculation that he had ever interacted with singer D4vd, who is currently facing multiple felony charges in connection with the teen’s death. “I never had any contact with this guy and we haven’t received any money from him or anyone in his family,” he said, addressing online claims that have spread in their hometown of Lake Elsinore, California.
The rumors, amplified across social media platforms including Reddit and Facebook, suggested that payments had been made to the Rivas family. The denial comes as the family continues to cope with the emotional toll of the case, which has drawn national attention due to its disturbing allegations.
According to prosecutors, D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, is accused of killing Celeste Rivas Hernandez in April 2025 at his Hollywood Hills residence. Investigators allege he arranged transportation for the minor and later carried out the قتل, with court documents claiming he maintained contact with her throughout 2024 despite intervention attempts by her family.
Authorities say the case escalated after Celeste was reported missing multiple times in 2024. Prosecutors further allege that Burke used intermediaries to communicate with her and facilitated travel across state and international locations.
Her remains were discovered months later in September 2025 in a vehicle linked to the आरोपी. He has since been charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return to court later this month.
