Charlie Sheen announced on November 17, 2015 that he is HIV positive and has known for about four years. He said he is receiving treatment and that the virus is currently undetectable. Since then, people from his past have started to share their reactions.
Natalie Kenly, who lived with Sheen in 2011 along with Bree Olson, said she is currently HIV negative. According to reports, Kenly said she does not believe Sheen meant to hurt anyone by not disclosing his status, and she does not plan to sue.
Olson had a very different reaction when she appeared on Stern’s radio show. She said she learned about Sheen’s status only days earlier, when people started calling her. She told Stern that she and Sheen were in a relationship, that he never told her about his health, and that she trusted him. Olson said she was shaken and upset, adding, “I couldn’t be more angry.” She also said she took an HIV test and that she read on air that the result was negative.
Olson recalled that during the year they lived together Sheen had symptoms such as sweating, and that he believed he might have a brain tumor. When Stern asked what she planned to do, she said she had not thought about it yet.
TMZ reported that a Los Angeles attorney says six women are preparing to sue Sheen, with claims that include fraud and emotional distress, and that the attorney has meetings scheduled with more women. Those claims have not been proven. A representative for Sheen was not quoted in the reports we reviewed.
